THEMATIC AREA 6: INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT

The objective of the Infrastructural development Thematic Area is - To create a conducive and supportive work environment towards the implementation of the AWSC programmes.

The advancements in Information Communication Technology (ICT) are promising to be a major boost to research and scholarship. The Centre has to be at the forefront in embracing ICT for it to remain competitive in this age of globalization. The Centre considers ICT accessibility for effective administration, teaching, learning, research and dissemination of information as critical in ensuring African women’s scholarship in policy influence is on course.

Strategies

  • Provision of office space and teaching facilities;
  • Building of a Resource Centre;
  • Enhancement of the ICT capacity;
  • Recruitment of an adequate number of qualified staff;
  • Capacity building of current full and part-time staff and Secretariat;
  • Diversify and increase sources of revenue

Expected outcomes

  • Adequate office space and teaching facilities
