Empowering Lactating Mothers Working in Informal Settlements

Today, Friday the 27th of October 2023, marked the second day of the 6th annual conference on the status of African women. The conference was part of the ongoing research week held by the University of Nairobi. The theme of this conference which was held virtually via zoom, was harnessing women’s knowledge, experiences and contributions towards sustainable development goals.

AWSC PHD STUDENT Alice Wairimu Nderitu appointed UN Special Adviser on the prevention of genocide

In her new role, she will not only sound the alarm over situations that may degenerate into a genocide but also leverage UN systems to stop or prevent such atrocities.

Ms Nderitu, a former Commissioner at the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), was recently part of the Panel of Eminent Persons monitoring the Tanzanian elections.

1) Applicants should have completed and graduated with an undergraduate degree from the University of Nairobi in the academic year 2018/2019 (except for School of Medicine, School of Dental Sciences and School of Nursing Sciences which requires mandatory two (2) years practical experience before admission into master’s programme).
