Networking & Linkages

Partnerships have been critical to AWSC’s ability to carry out effectively its mandate.As such, AWSC has worked with many academic and research institutions as well as government and development organizations in Kenya and beyond the region.These wide-ranging collaborations have been instrumental in the Center’s intense capacity-building efforts through graduate scholarships, short-term training and other knowledge management endeavors, as well as in its research and development.Through its institutional collaborations, the Center has access to a large pool of experts in specialized topics.


  1. NAITERA ( is a community based organization registered by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development.
  2. The Council of Governors ( is composed of the Governors of the forty-seven counties. Through the Council, Governors identify priority issues and deal collectively with matters of public policy and governance at the County and the National levels.
  3. UN Women ( is the UN organization dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women.
  4. UNDP ( works in nearly 170 countries to develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities and build resilience in order to sustain development results. AMKENI WAKENYA is a UNDP led facility set up to promote democratic governance in Kenya. The name “Amkeni Wakenya” is inspired by the second stanza of the National Anthem that calls upon all Kenyans to arise and actively participate in nation building. 
  5. Australian Aid ( are a movement of people, organisations, communities and businesses who believe that their country can and should do more to help build a better, fairer future for all.
  6. Ministry of Agriculture Livestock and Fisheries ( has its fundamental goal and purpose of conserving protecting and managing agricultural livestock and fisheries resources for socio-economic development.
  7. The Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA) ( is a membership association of all women parliamentarians drawn from across all political parties both elected and nominated in the Senate and National Assembly.
  8. The ActionAid partner-organisation, Women’s Political Alliance Kenya (WPA) works to ensure gender balance in decision-making and new laws.
