Partnerships have been critical to AWSC’s ability to carry out effectively its mandate.As such, AWSC has worked with many academic and research institutions as well as government and development organizations in Kenya and beyond the region.These wide-ranging collaborations have been instrumental in the Center’s intense capacity-building efforts through graduate scholarships, short-term training and other knowledge management endeavors, as well as in its research and development.Through its institutional collaborations, the Center has access to a large pool of experts in specialized topics.

- UN Women (http://www.unwomen.org/) is the UN organization dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women.
- UNDP (http://www.undp.org/) works in nearly 170 countries to develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities and build resilience in order to sustain development results. AMKENI WAKENYA is a UNDP led facility set up to promote democratic governance in Kenya. The name “Amkeni Wakenya” is inspired by the second stanza of the National Anthem that calls upon all Kenyans to arise and actively participate in nation building.
